This past Saturday, October 12, 199 runners laced up their shoes for the 2nd Annual Run for The Hill 5k at Heartwood, and what an event it was! With a crisp fall chill in the air and golden sunshine lighting up the course, it was the perfect day for a run. Pumpkins adorned the porch at The Outfitters, and the costumes this year were on point, especially in the Kid’s Fun Run where young participants dashed through the finish line dressed as their favorite characters. From superheroes to princesses, their energy and excitement kicked off the morning.
Run for The Hill is more than just a race, it’s an opportunity for the community to come together for a greater cause—our schools. Every dollar raised goes to benefit the students and staff of Richmond Hill’s seven schools. This year, Heartwood raised $28,000! Richmond Hill High School brought the most affiliated participants, earning them a $1,000 bonus check from Raydient.Â
As for the race itself, Carter Dieterich, a student at Richmond Hill High School, led the pack with an impressive time of 16:01. Hot on his heels were Noah Bowman at 17:38 and Kevin Hancock, our Masters winner, at 17:55. The women’s race was just as exciting, with Macey Higgason crossing the line first at 20:15, followed by Lacey Rogacki at 20:48 and Jessica Helle at 22:28.
Thank you to everyone who came together for this special event. From the runners to the supporters, your participation ensures that our students and staff continue to thrive! A special note of gratitude also goes to Ethan Blendowski, who sang the National Anthem, Kan Cooper, who represented Richmond Hill in its truest form as the Wildcat, and to the Wildcat Cheerleaders, who cheered runners across the finish line.
This race and fundraising gift was made possible by our incredible sponsors:Â
