Heartwood Architectural Standards

October 2025

The Heartwood Architectural Standards Document has been developed to guide all partners involved in the planning, design, and construction of the built environment within Heartwood. These standards establish a cohesive design framework that ensures aesthetic consistency, functional excellence, and long-term value across the community.

Our intention is to create a unified sense of place rooted in high-quality materials, thoughtful detailing, and contextual design. By aligning on key elements — including architectural styles, exterior materials, color palettes, landscape features, shade structures, fencing, signage, street furnishings, and common-area finishes — we reinforce a shared identity that strengthens the character of Heartwood.

These guidelines are not meant to limit creativity, but to provide a foundation for harmony. When applied consistently, the small yet meaningful details — from fastener types and wood stains to lighting selections, benches, trash receptacles, and other public-realm elements — work together to create a connected, recognizable, and enduring environment.

Through intentional design and partnership, we can ensure that Heartwood remains an inviting, cohesive, and timeless community for generations to come.
