Every month, Heartwood residents get together for The Green Hour — a resident-exclusive evening to catch up with neighbors, let the kids run and ease into the weekend. In October, The Green Hour gets a seasonal twist and becomes our Fall Festival.
On Friday, October 16, families showed up in full costume — princesses and superheroes, Mario and Luigi, Buzz Lightyear and even a very convincing Bowser — and headed straight for the pumpkin-painting tables. Brushes in hand, our youngest artists got to work, and by the end of the afternoon the tables were lined with pumpkins in every color imaginable: dripping purples, glossy greens, smiling jack-o’-lanterns and more than a few one-of-a-kind masterpieces.
The treat table was just as colorful, piled high with pumpkin-topped tarts, spider cupcakes, Halloween snack mix and plenty of candy, while the grown-ups enjoyed complimentary sangria and beer and a chance to visit with friends old and new.
As the sun went down, the party spilled out onto the lawn for cornhole, a giant inflatable dartboard and plenty of running around in the golden evening light.
Thank you to every family who came out to celebrate the season with us. Scroll through the gallery below for more moments from the evening — we’ll see you at the next Green Hour!
